Qiyana Base VFX

Qiyana Base Visual Effects - Qiyana is the latest Champion on the rift! She uses her elemental prowess to dominate her enemies with her chakram. Designing elemental effects while still doing physical damage was a real challenge! Her Q's went through a lot of different iterations before getting closer to hitting that physical feeling. Her ultimate was also really tough as it can spawn over very long lengths of terrain. I had to make it as performant as possible while still hitting that ultimate, impactful feeling.

Q - Elemental Wrath Grass

This ability was pretty tough! Qiyana uses grass to create a stealth zone for herself. Was pretty tough to get the sections to spawn correctly and feel substantive enough to 'cover' her while not obscuring the battlefield.

This one went through many many iterations to get that physical feeling. The breakup of her blade helped set that 'hit with rocks!' feeling.

A targeted dash. Added noticeable dust poofs to the start to emphasis it's a fixed distance spell.

This spawns two emitters going around any terrain in opposite directions.

Each element has it's own additional damage proc on first hit. This can play over any other on hit so it needed to be punchy and linger longer so that it was readable.
